Microsoft has unveiled the Microsoft BizSpark, an initiative to accelerate the success of local Malaysian technopreneurs and early stage start-ups through software support. Together with its Network Partners comprise 11 key players in ICT ecosystem, including the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and the Association of the Computer and Multimedia Industry Malaysia (PIKOM), the BizPark program focus on three key elements, which outline the benefits for each participating start-up namely, Get Software that enables fast and easy access to Microsoft's current full-featured development tools, platform technologies and production licenses of server products;Get Support allows participants to receive professional support from Microsoft and BizSpark Network Partners locally and around the world;and Get Visibility, a dedicated Website, the BizSparkDB, will highlight promising companies from around the world daily.

Perwaja Holdings Berhad, an intergrated upstream producer of primary steel products, launched its initial public offer at Shangri-La Hotel recently.
The event were attended by top executives of Perwaja's major shareholders, Kinsteel Berhad ("Kinsteel") and Maju Holdings Sdn. Bhd ("Maju"), business associates, and members of the investment community namely, Y Bhg Dato' Abdullah Mat Noh Chairman of RHB Investment Bank, Mr. Henry Pheng Chin Guan, Chief Executive Officer of Perwaja Holdings Berhad and the launch was graced by Malaysian Finance Minister II, Tan Sri Dato' Nor Mohamed Yakcop.
Speaking at the event, Tan Sri Abu Sahid bin Mohamed Chairman of Perwaja Holdings said, "Perwaja enjoys a unique market position as one of the few producers of direct reduced iron(DRI) and beam-blanks and blooms in Malaysia, all of which are currently experiencing high demand globally. Of the total shares, 101.5 million will be offered at the discount price of RM2.23 a share. The rest will be priced at RM2.90. Kinsteel's shareholders are being offered Perwaja shares at RM2.23 apiece. In addition, 11,200,000 shares will be allocated to eligible directors, employees and individuals who have contributed to the success of the Group, while another 11,200,000 shares priced at RM2.90 per share will be offered to the public. Perwaja is expected to debut on the stock exchange on August 20, 2008.

Public-listed TFP Solutions Berhad, a software services company that offers business productivity solutions mainly to manufacturing and service industry, has initiated its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) effort to serve the Puchong as well as Klang Valley community by donating a kidney dialysis machine at Sau Seng Lum Dialysis & Stroke Rehab Centre, Puchong recently.
The auspicious occasion was officiated by Yang Berhormat Teresa Kok, MP for Seputeh, who commended TFP Group for it's generous donation which brought hope to the increasing number of dialysis patients within the vicinity of Klang Valley. Also present at the event, was Miss Eva Nilsson Mansfield, Charge d' Affaire from the Embassy of Sweden.
